In your commitment to discipleship are you willing to let Jesus come in, resurrect, and truly be Lord of your life?

Are you willing to have your heart, mind – your very personality taken over by Another, namely Jesus?

Unquestioning obedience to Him in everything will be required. Are you willing?

The self-sins will not be tolerated – self pity, self love, self-seeking, self confidence, self-defense, self-righteousness, self-aggrandizement—most of these are permitted or excused by most Christians, but not you. Are you willing to intercede for those who transgress against you?

Are you willing to bless them that curse you? Do good to them that hate you? Pray for those them which despitefully use you and persecute you?

You will find the Lord Jesus to be in sharp opposition to the easy ways of the world and the easy way professed by some in Christianity. Are you willing to abandon the comforts of the flesh if He directs?

Are you willing to have the direction of your life taken totally away from you, and surrendered to Jesus?

Are you willing to be tested, disciplined, and chastened, even rebuked by the Lord Jesus, for your good and the progression of His kingdom?

Are you willing to forego gray-area pleasures which to you are merely refined evils, even though you see other Christians enjoying them?

Are you willing to bring your flesh into subjection when it whimpers under the strain of discipleship? When the enemy pushes it and it cries out to you that discipleship is too much? Are you willing to resolve to pursue Jesus when He enters your own healing process, and commands you to lose your life and the seeking of it, that you may find His, and receive your healing as you lay down your life for the brethren?

Are you willing to enjoy the solemn privilege of suffering to fill up “that which is behind in the afflictions of Jesus” in your flesh for His body’s (the church) sake?

“…whosever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple…” Luke 14:33
